Range Rover Introduces New Logo for the First Time in Over Five Decades

For the first time in more than five decades, Range Rover is sporting a brand-new look. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has revealed an updated logo for its flagship brand as it gears up to launch its very first all-electric SUV later this year.

The new logo looks sleek and contemporary with two stylized "R"s in a sleek, generous typeface. It's a subtle, symbolic refashioning from the original logo that has been in existence since 1970—when the first Range Rover broke onto the scene.

According to Autocar, this branding update is part of JLR’s larger “House of Brands” strategy. The idea is to treat Range Rover as a standalone luxury brand—just like Jaguar, Defender, and Discovery—each with its own identity and distinct design language.

That said, the classic “Range Rover” script we’re all familiar with isn’t going anywhere. It will still appear proudly on the front and rear of every model, keeping that sense of heritage intact while the brand moves forward.

Alongside the new logo, JLR is also introducing a custom design element known as the “Range Rover pattern.” This modern checkered motif weaves the new “R” into its design, reinforcing the brand’s identity—especially as it ventures further into the premium electric vehicle space. It’s all about blending timeless luxury with a fresh, sustainable edge.

But this visual overhaul is not just a styling update—it's a declaration. Range Rover is embracing the future of electric innovation while holding on to what made it an icon to begin with.

At Apppl Combine, a leading creative agency in Delhi NCR, we believe a logo is just the start. True branding is about telling your story in a way that resonates deeply—and endures. Whether you're refreshing an established brand or launching something entirely new, we're here to help you craft an identity that’s bold, thoughtful, and built to last.
